In Bṛhat Saṃhitā (Ch. 55) and Viśvakarma Prakāśa, specific botanical species are matched to the four cardinal quarters to balance thermal energy and soil hydrology:
Attracts healing coolness, preserves water table, enhances northern prosperity.
Expansive morning shade canopy, filters early sun glare, fosters social unity.
Continual oxygen release, filters late afternoon western glare and heat mass.
Dense thermal canopy buffering intense solar infrared loads from the southern sky.
Thorny trees (Kaṇṭakī / Acacia, Cactus) cause psychological distress and injury. Milk-exuding trees (Kṣīrī / Calotropis) close to bedroom windows can trigger respiratory irritation. Aggressive deep tap-root species planted within 5 meters of foundations will inevitably heave footings and fracture plumbing conduits.

To protect building foundations from destructive root penetration while ensuring shade benefits, Pūjāvāni enforces the mathematical canopy-to-setback buffer formula:

3. Sacred Groves & Kuṇapa Jala Biotechnology
The Pañcavaṭī Micro-Forest
Comprises five sacred trees planted in a geometric circle: Aśvattha (East), Bilva (North), Vaṭa (West), Dhātrī/Amla (South), and Aśoka (South-East). This specific botanical guild emits high concentrations of antibacterial terpenes and phytoncides, creating a therapeutic, oxygen-saturated micro-climate ideal for meditation and campus wellness.
Kuṇapa Jala Bio-Stimulant
Codified in Surapāla Vṛkṣāyurveda (v. 101–105): a fermented microbial fertilizer produced from organic animal matter, sesame oilcake, pulse decoction, and honey. Modern microbiological analysis confirms that Kuṇapa Jala is exceptionally rich in chelated micronutrients, indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) plant growth hormones, and beneficial mycorrhizal fungi.
