Multi-Storey Stacking & NBC 2016 Compliance

Extending Vāstu into the third dimension (Ūrdhva Vāstu): multi-floor vertical collision matrices, structural load gradients, and seamless compliance with India’s National Building Code (NBC 2016).

Translation:In multi-storey construction, heavy elements must be supported along stable earth corridors. Lighter spaces must rise unobstructed above. Reversing this hierarchy causes structural and energetic collapse.

1. 3D Vertical Stacking & Collision Penalties

In contemporary multi-storey apartments and corporate offices, 2D floor plans are insufficient. Vāstu operates in three dimensions. Pūjāvāni’s engine scans vertical shaft alignments and applies calibrated negative penalties when incompatible functional rooms are vertically stacked:

Upper Floor SpaceLower Floor SpaceAlgorithmic PenaltySeverity RatingArchitectural Rationale

2. Harmonization with National Building Code (NBC 2016)

Statutory building regulations always supersede folk superstitions. The ancient principle ofPrāṇa Rakṣā (Protection of Life) is the supreme shastric duty. Pūjāvāni harmonizes classical Vāstu with statutory NBC 2016 clauses:

NBC Part 4: Fire Safety

Mandates dual exit staircases and travel distances $\le 30$ meters. If an exit staircase must fall in the North-East, fire safety takes precedence. Pūjāvāni designs the stair with pressurized shafts and open glass lobbies to maintain Ishana lightness.

NBC Part 3: Setbacks & FAR

Mandates statutory boundary setbacks for emergency fire tender movement. Pūjāvāni allocates wider open setbacks in the North and East (minimum $1.5\times$ South/West setbacks), satisfying both NBC access rules and Vāstu morning insolation.

NBC Part 8: Daylight & Air

Mandates aggregate window opening area $\ge 1/8$th (12.5%) of carpet area for habitable rooms. Pūjāvāni concentrates high window-to-wall ratios (WWR $\ge 40\%$) in the North and East while restricting South and West WWR to $\le 20\%$.
