The Epistemic Guide: Discerning Śāstra from Superstition

A definitive epistemic manifesto on reclaiming Indian Knowledge Systems. Learn how to test claims against the Four Pramāṇas of Vedic epistemology and protect your family and enterprise from commercial exploitation and fear-based charlatans.

Bhagavad GītāCh. 16 (Daivāsurasampadvibhāgayoga), v. 24
A · Canonical text

तस्माच्छास्त्रं प्रमाणं ते कार्याकार्यव्यवस्थितौ। ज्ञात्वा शास्त्रविधानोक्तं कर्म कर्तुमिहार्हसि॥

tasmāc chāstraṃ pramāṇaṃ te kāryākāryavyavasthitau | jñātvā śāstravidhānoktaṃ karma kartum ihārhasi ||

Translation:Therefore, let authentic Śāstra (scientific treatise) be your authoritative authority in determining what should and should not be undertaken. Understanding what is codified in authentic texts, perform your work in this world with discernment.

1. The Four Pramāṇas of Genuine Authenticity

In Indian philosophy (Nyāya and Mīmāṃsā), any knowledge claim must satisfy valid means of knowledge (Pramāṇa). At Pūjāvāni, every feature is audited through four filters:

1Śāstra Pramāṇa (Scriptural Provenance)

Is the rule attested in primary historical Sanskrit treatises (Mānasāra, Mayamata, Sūrya Siddhānta)? If a practitioner cannot cite the treatise, chapter, and verse, it is modern hearsay.

2Gaṇita Pramāṇa (Mathematical Rigor)

Can the claim be modeled as a rigorous mathematical, geometric, or astronomical formula? Computational repeatability is the litmus test of genuine science.

3Pratyakṣa Pramāṇa (Direct Observation & Biophysics)

Does the spatial recommendation align with observable laws of nature—solar ultraviolet/infrared angles, prevailing monsoonal wind corridors, and material mechanics?

4Yukti Pramāṇa (Logical & Ethical Coherence)

Does the rule promote human flourishing, family harmony, and structural stability without demanding irrational financial destruction or psychological terror?

2. Recognizing Commercial Myths & Red Flags

Myth: Plastic Pyramids & "Energy Helix" Strips

The Shastric Truth: Pyramids are Egyptian, not Vedic. Nowhere in the 32 primary Vāstu treatises do "energy pyramids", plastic chips, or miracle crystals exist. They are 100% modern commercial retail inventions.

Myth: Demolishing Functional Toilets in High-Rise Apartments

The Shastric Truth: High-rise apartments share common structural service ducts. Classical texts explicitly note that tenants cannot control structural shafts. Demolition creates immense financial distress without shastric merit.

Myth: Catastrophic Fear-Mongering over Minor Angular Offsets

The Shastric Truth: A building rotated 3° from True North does not cause "instant ruin". Classical treatises provide continuous proportional grading matrices, recognizing that perfect alignment is rarely achievable on irregular urban plots.

Myth: Astrological Tabulations Without Drik Gaṇita Verification

The Shastric Truth: Traditional paper almanacs using obsolete medieval tables (Vākya) can drift by up to 4° in Moon position—an error of several Tithis! Any astrology not backed by high-precision ephemerides is inaccurate.

Pūjāvāni’s Epistemic Covenant

We refuse to participate in fear-based commercialism. We do not sell retail charms, miracle pyramids, or amulets. Our mission is the open, transparent, and rigorous preservation of classical Indian Knowledge Systems through modern computational mathematics, open-access shastric citations, and high-precision ephemeris algorithms.
