वास्तु यस्माद् निवासाय कल्पितं सर्वदेहिनाम्। तस्माद् वास्तु इति प्रोक्तं तज्ज्ञानेन विधीयते॥

vāstu yasmād nivāsāya kalpitaṃ sarvadehinām | tasmād vāstu iti proktaṃ tajjñānena vidhīyate ||

Translation:Because it is conceived as the sacred abode for all living beings, it is called Vāstu. True architecture is that which is systematically executed in alignment with this divine science.
